Project Overview

The chapel serves not only as the worship space of Concordia University Irvine, but also as a key venue for commencements, concerts, lectures and campus events. The building needed to preserve its solemn, tranquil atmosphere while flexibly transforming its space for different occasions. Value supplied the AUC aluminum bifold door system, expanding the venue’s adaptability for large events.

Serving worship, ceremonies and campus events alike, the chapel required different degrees of openness for different occasions.

For large gatherings and campus events, the bifold doors open fully to create a more open venue; during worship, the closed leaves form a complete enclosure that enhances sound insulation for a quiet, comfortable service.
