Project Overview

Ocotillo House sits on roughly three acres of desert near Joshua Tree National Park, California — a modern standalone vacation rental built around the landscape experience. With three bedrooms, a flex space, a pool, a spa and an outdoor fire pit, the home connects deeply with its desert surroundings. Value supplied the AL Aluminum Series in an electroplated silver finish, drawing the desert landscape indoors through expansive glazing.

Project Challenge

In the desert’s dramatic day-night temperature swings, the system had to maintain stable insulation and sealing through constant hot-cold cycles.
As a view-driven vacation rental, the interior experience depended heavily on openness of sight lines.
The interior’s modern-retro styling required frames whose look harmonized with the overall design language.

Our Solution

Value configured the AL Aluminum Series around large floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors, opening the interior fully to the desert. In the main living areas, grand glazed facades deliver continuous views that make the desert terrain a natural backdrop; the sliding door system heightens the flow between inside and out, creating a direct bond between daily life and the landscape. The electroplated silver finish shifts subtly with the changing light, forming a unified visual language with the desert’s light and shadow and the home’s modern-retro interior.
